    Abstract: We are illustrating the interactions between power and identity. First we portray the specific way of handling power of two politicians (Ronald Schill and Helmut Schmidt). We then look at power and identity from a more general point of view, followed by a consideration of their clinical aspects. These refer equally to power in regard to both hospital staff and patients. Finally we describe the balance of power in the interaction between patient and therapist.
