Sagar first gained widespread recognition for his pioneering work in rendering faces for Hollywood movies, including Avatar and King Kong. With a Ph.D. degree in bioengineering and two Academy Awards under his belt, Sagar now directs a research lab at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, a combinatorial hub where artificial intelligence (AI), neuroscience, computer science, philosophy, and cognitive psychology intersect in creating interactive, intelligent technologies.

(2015) : Influence of approaching patterns of Telepresence Robot for personal space: 2015 Conference on Technologies and Applications of Artificial Intelligence (TAAI): Tainan, Taiwan: IEEE, S. 221-226
DOI: https://doi.org/10.1109/TAAI.2015.7407117 Abstract: The robot called “Telepresence Robot” is on business in recent years. However, the robot does not consider user’s personal space when the robot approaches the user. To better develop the system of the robot, here we study about how the robot approaches a user. The three factors was considered to influence the scope of the user’s personal space. The first factor is the position where the robot starts to decelerate when the robot approaches a user. The second factor is the method the robot decelerate. The final factor is pre-action by sound when the robot approaches a user. We verified those 3 factors, as a result, it was revealed that pre-action influenced personal space. By the appropriate approaching, the conversation between Telepresence Robot and human becomes natural and interactive.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.1109/SAMI.2013.6480990 Abstract: Sci-fi technological movie domain is an important part of human culture. The paper focus on comparison study of selected robotics sci-fi movie domain from a technological point of view. It is necessary to accomplish technological analysis of studied sci-fi movies and able to distinguish about possible current technology and future direction of the artificial intelligence in the domain of Robot intelligence. The review of existing movies which are in fact influencing thinking of humans is essential since it can influence a future research direction in AI. This information is interesting for inspiration of students and research associates in theory and applications. In conclusion, we envision potential problems of social networks and impact of Internet of things facts which is becoming a reality with IPv6 protocol. The goal of the paper is also to underline the importance of such cultural phenomena as sci-fi movies for the future of humanity.
