Abstract: How does history shape moral values? There are several different theoretical perspectives on moral change, and each has led to lines of evidence that shed light on the nature of morality. The cognitive sciences tend to focus on synchronic methods: studying mental life here and now in living populations. Occasionally, work is also done exploring evolutionary accounts, which is an especially popular approach when it comes to studying morals. Far less frequent is work on the history of morals. This is, in part, because history is difficult to study using psychological methods. This neglect is unfortunate, however, because changes over historical time can deepen our understanding of moral psychology. Like evolutionary approaches, historical approaches help us understand both the mechanisms of morality and their function. But historical approaches also shed light on moral learning, sociocultural contributors to moral norms, transformations over time, and moral conflict. In thi s chapte r, I consider relevant work in philosophy and cultural history, as well as research in the social sciences: anthropology, behavioral economics, political science, sociology, and psychology. Abstract: Zur Beantwortung der Frage, welche Rolle moralische Emotionen für die Evolution des sozialen Miteinanders und für die Aufrechterhaltung von gruppenspezifischen Normen und Regeln spielen, werden zunächst verschiedene neuere Theorien und Forschungen zum Verhältnis von Scham und Kooperation aus der evolutionären Anthropologie, Spieltheorie, Psychologie sowie Ökonomie diskutiert. Diese legen eine enge Verbindung von moralischen Emotionen und kooperativem Verhalten nahe. Anschließend werden empirische Befunde aus historischen Gesellschaften exemplarisch vorgestellt und im Rahmen einer evolutionären Geschichtswissenschaft interpretiert. Dabei wird gezeigt, dass beschämende Strafen im europäischen Mittelalter vor allem für leichtere Vergehen gegen den inneren Frieden einer Gruppe wie etwa bei Verleumdung und übler Nachrede, Meineid, Fälschung, Betrug, Ehebruch sowie Gotteslästerung und später auch Diebstahl verhängt wurden. Die ursprünglich aus der kirchlichen Bußpraxis stammenden Strafen entwickelten sich im städtischen Strafrecht des Hoch- und Spätmittelalters eigenständig weiter und waren zum Beginn der Neuzeit in weiten Teilen Europas fester Bestandteil des Sanktionenkatalogs. Moralische Emotionen waren somit für einen bestimmten Zeitraum ein wichtiger Baustein, mit dem eine effektive Kooperation in Gruppen, die auf gegenseitiges Vertrauen bauten, sichergestellt werden sollte. Im Fazit wird der Blick auf Funktionalisierungen der Scham in modernen Gesellschaften geweitet, und Implikationen der historischen Befunde werden diskutiert.

Given psychological characteristic standards of submission historically embodied in the moral codes and legal sources. The subject of analysis are historical regulations XII—XX centuries, the customs, in which the fixed rate of submission, as well as the memoir literature. There are four basic psychological lines of development in the history of the rules of subordination, in particular: a special regulation of the rules of subordination and increasing social importance of the role of subordinate. It is proved that psychological acceptance of a subordinate role and the satisfaction of its implementation includes the requirement of special rules regulating authority and emphasis on the social importance of the role of subordinate. It was established that one of the reasons that the job satisfaction of employees of state structures higher than employees of private companies, a large schema definition of relations with man agement. Hierarchical role is considered in terms of two components: the role of attributes and rules, rules of conduct. The article focuses on the fact that the individual external signs, locking status subordination, increase the level of self-esteem of subordinate. DOI: https://doi.org/10.1109/HRI.2013.6483535 Abstract: We are developing an interactive service robot which provides personal greetings to customers, using a machine-learning approach based on observations of a customer’s appearance or behavior from on-board or environmental sensors. For each visit, several features are recorded, such as “time of day” or “number of people in group.” A set of classifiers trained by human coders compare the current features with the person’s individual history, to determine an appropriate feature for a robot to speak about. This system enables the robot to make context-appropriate comments such as “good morning, you’re here very early today.” We present the design of our system and an encouraging set of preliminary prediction results based on one month of data taken from real customers at a shopping mall.

Abstract: Die Bedeutung von Gluck und die Beziehungen zwischen Gluck und Moral werden aus der Perspektive der themenzentrierten Interaktion (TZI) betrachtet. Nach einer Bestimmung des Glucksbegriffs (episodisch und ubergreifend) werden historische Stationen der Auffassungen uber das Verhaltnis von Gluck und Moral beleuchtet. Als ein wesentliches Element des Glucks wird der Aspekt der Selbstbestimmung verdeutlicht, der im Konflikte zwischen Gluck und Moral (zwischen Selbstachtung und Rucksicht auf die Anspruche und Gefuhle anderer) bedeutsam ist. Anhand der TZI-Konzeption werden Gluck und Moral anschliessend unter dem Vorzeichen eines "Sowohl-als-auch" als dialektische Einheit der Gegensatze reflektiert.

Abstract: This paper argues the significant contributions and also limits of usability approach on designing technological products and services. Among various emerging concepts that have been proposed to supplement usability, this paper argues importance of considering human affects when users interact with technology. Abstract: Gibt es eine Zukunft der begriffsgeschichtlichen Forschung nach dem Abschluss der disziplinären Großprojekte? In exemplarischen Fallstudien reflektieren die Autoren Begriffsgeschichte und historische Semantik zugleich vor dem Hintergrund der kulturwissenschaftlichen Wende der Geisteswissenschaften und der Überwindung eines disziplinär segmentierten Kulturbegriffs. Methodisch rücken dabei metapherntheoretische, sprachpragmatische und diskursgeschichtliche Fragestellungen und ihre Verbindung stärker in den Mittelpunkt, in technischer Hinsicht werden neue Möglichkeiten der Nutzung von Computer und Internet bei der Recherche, Präsentation und Vernetzung semantikgeschichtlicher Befunde geprüft.

Interactive tangible media "iTMedia" is proposed to explore these issues. Personal robotics is a major area to investigate these ideas. A new design methodology for personal and emotional robotics is proposed. Sciences of the artificial and intelligence have been investigated. A short history of artificial intelligence is presented in terms of logic, heuristics, and mobility; a science of intelligence is presented in terms of imitation and understanding; intelligence issues for robotics and intelligence measures are described. A design methodology for personal robots based on science of emotion is investigated. We investigate three different aspects of design: visceral, behavioral, and reflective. We also discuss affect and emotion in robots, robots that sense emotion, robots that induce emotion in people, and implications and ethical issues of emotional robots. Personal robotics for the elderly is investigated to explore these ideas.

Abstract: Das erstmals ein Jahr vor der Franzosischen Revolution erschienene Buch von Knigge "Uber den Umgang mit Menschen" wird als ein ausserordentlich wichtiges sozialpsychologisches Dokument der Herausbildung freiheitlicher verbaler und nonverbaler Kommunikationsformen beschrieben. Bisher wurde es jedoch von Sozialwissenschaftlern kaum beachtet, weil der Autor mehr mit den Verfalschungen des Umgangsbuches auf dem Hintergrund veranderter gesellschaftlicher Konstellationen im 19. Jahrhundert identifiziert wird als mit dem ursprunglichen Text. Knigge stellt sich die Frage, wie sich eine (bisher wenig erfolgreiche) Person im zwischenmenschlichen Verkehr Geltung verschaffen kann. Seine Antwort lautet: Indem er andere Personen geltend macht. Knigge analysiert eine Vielzahl sozialer Mikro-Verhaltnisse bezuglich der Aquivalenz der beteiligten Personen. Von zentraler Bedeutung ist die gegenseitige Erganzung der Interaktionspartner. Es wird darauf hingewiesen, dass Knigge einer der wichtigsten Reprasentanten der Franzosischen Revolution in Deutschland war. Er schrieb kein Komplimentierbuch, sondern ein Buch uber die Komplementaritat bei der Herstellung von Beziehungen zwischen ansonsten isolierten Individuen in der postfeudalen Gesellschaftsformation.
