(2016): Social and Legal Aspects of the Educational Support of Adolescents with Deviant Behavior. In: International Journal of Environmental and Science Education 11 (11), S. 4768-4781. Abstract: The purpose of the study is to consider the problem of the organization of working with adolescents with deviant behavior through the development and implementation of their psychological and pedagogical support based on student-centered and system approaches. Holistic application of components of psychological and pedagogical support (diagnostic, developmental and correctional) we consider as an open system that interacts with the social environment. The authors determine that modern models of deviant behavior correlation ought to focus on creating the conditions that allow the child to build their own system of relations with the world, other people, himself and independently to overcome difficulties; moreover, they should include reflexive and analytical approach to the process and the result of psychological and pedagogical support. Experienced and experimental work on the implementation of psychological and pedagogical support of adolescents with deviant behavior in secondary school allowed us to make a conclusion about the effectiveness of using a specially designed program of psychological and pedagogical support of adolescent with deviant behavior with a view to its correction. DOI: 10.1024/1422-4917/a000396

Abstract: Supporting other human beings is a fundamental aspect of human societies. Such so-called prosocial behavior is expressed in helping others, cooperating and sharing with them. This article gives an overview both of the development of prosocial behavior across childhood and of the relationship between prosociality and externalizing and internalizing problems. Especially externalizing problems are negatively associated with prosocial behavior, whereas the relationships with prosocial behavior are more heterogeneous for internalizing problems. Studies investigating developmental trajectories demonstrate that prosocial behavior and externalizing problems are not opposite ends of a continuum. Rather, they are two independent dimensions that may also co-occur in development. The same applies to internalizing problems, which can co-occur with pronounced prosociality as well as with low prosociality.

Abstract: Changes in the co-development of personality characteristics and friendships across the lifespan are examined. How personality traits shape friendship development (i.e., selection effects) and how friendships shape personality traits (i.e., socialization effects) is adressed. By integrating separate empirical studies, The authors look at how selection and socialization effects change across the lifespan. A review of longitudinal research supports the hypothesis that selection effects on friendships intensify during adolescence, peak in young adulthood, and diminish throughout middle and late adulthood. Socialization effects through friendships seem to be moderately sized during adolescence, then small to negligible from young adulthood onwards. For future directions, effects of the transactional development of friendships and personality regarding associated dispositions within individuals, associated individuals within friendship dyads, and individuals associated within wider social networks are discussed. zitiert von 11

Abstract: Based on the social investment principle and theories of social relationship differentiation, the present study was conducted to investigate whether personality differences in high school predict young adults' living arrangements (with roommates or a romantic partner, alone, or staying with parents) 2 years later (selection) and whether these different social contexts provoke long-term personality changes (socialization). Using data from a 3-wave longitudinal study of 8,052 high school graduates in Germany, multinomial logistic regression analyses revealed substantial selection effects of the Big Five traits on living arrangements. Propensity score matching was applied to provide a strong test of the socialization effects of these living arrangements. Young adults who lived with roommates showed increases in Openness but the smallest increases in Conscientiousness. Living with a romantic partner was the most beneficial arrangement for the development of Conscientiousness. These results highlight the importance of social contexts for personality development in young adulthood. zitiert von 14

Abstract: Wilhelm Wundts Ethik wird aus moralpsychologischer Perspektive reflektiert.

In: Report Psychologie 28 (10), S. 584-593.

  • Anderson, Norman H. (1991): Contributions to information integration theory. Moral-social development. pp. 137-187. Hillsdale, NJ: Erlbaum

Abstract: moral development is not autonomous, but an integral part of general social and personality development / a theory of moral development cannot be self-contained, therefore, but must be part of a larger theory that includes social-personality development, and indeed, much perceptual-cognitive development as well this view is explicit in information integration theory, which seeks a unified treatment of moral development within a general theory of judgment and action / in this view, the processes involved in moral judgment are not essentially different from those involved in other social and cognitive judgment / the following discussion of moral development is accordingly set within the framework of social cognition this chapter illustrates how information integration theory can be used to study moral-social development / the first part gives a theoretical overview of three basic concepts, valuation, integration, and action, within a functional, goal-oriented framework / this leads to a discussion of several issues of cognitive analysis, mainly concerned with moral attitudes and values the second part of the chapter considers a schema approach to blame / begins with an illustration to show how much information can be gained from a single experiment through the integration approach / a more general discussion is then given, with an emphasis on social learning / the third part discusses unfairness and deserving in similar manner / the integration approach provides cognitive analysis that entails substantial revision of previous developmental studies / popular methods based on verbal report are shown to be seriously invalid the final part compares the integration approach with current stage formulations and makes some suggestions for collaboration between these two approaches / of primary concern is the development of a theoretical framework that can combine phenomenology with experimental method theoretical overview [integration, valuation, action, cognitive analysis] / blame and punishment / deserving and fairness [deserving, unfairness, equity and inequity, developmental analysis of deserving and equity, fairness studied with interviews, equity studies with children] / stage theories [Piaget's interview method, Kohlberg's approach, Rest's approach] / combined approach to moral development [integration, moral development, everyday life] (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
